Minutes of the Meetings held on 24th March and 14th April 2011, previously circulated, were approved and it was proposed by Cllr Mrs Turner, seconded by Cllr Whitehouse and agreed that they be signed.
Matters Arising Flagpole and oak posts for Churchside – Cllr Tiso informed that grant available from the LMIS fund and application form on County Cllr Matthew Ellis’ website. Clerk to follow up.
Play Area Awaiting report from Councillors.
Correspondence SCC Highways: Neighbourhood Highway Team visit dates for Harlaston during the weeks commencing 1st August 2011 and 28th November 2011. Suitable tasks for attention to be notified to the NHT nearer to those dates. SCC: ‘Your Staffordshire Card’ for use by any Staffordshire resident under the age of twenty for reduced bus travel, paying only £1 for any journey starting or ending in Staffordshire. Notice posted on noticeboard. More information on www.yourstaffordshirecard.info SPCA: Training courses available for new Councillors and Clerks. Costs of courses are an allowable expense and information passed to Cllr Tingey. LDC: Minutes of Parish Forum held on 6th April 2011. Next meeting 1st September 2011. Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25th June 2011 – request support to honour Armed Forces by flying Union flag for duration of week commencing Monday 20th June.

Urgent Business at the Chairman’s Discretion Resignation of Clerk – three months’ notice given with effect from 12th May 2011. Job advert to be put in Parish Magazine and advised to SPCA for circulation. Co-option of Councillors to commence to fill the two vacancies remaining following the uncontested election on 5th May 2011. Notice to be posted on noticeboard and applications received to be considered at next meeting. The Chairman advised of his intention, with the help of fellow Councillors, to review any outstanding issues, including the Parish Plan. Also, to initiate monthly meetings with a short forum before and after each Council meeting to facilitate residents’ comments. Leak on Main Road opposite Willow Lodge on approach to village from Tamworth, previously reported to Severn Trent. Clerk to follow up. Road surface breaking up in Scotland Lane between bridge and public house and also outside Village Hall. Clerk to contact Highways.
