County Councillor Matthew Ellis has urged local people to attend the Planning Committee at which the proposed wind turbine application for land by Haunton will be considered.

The County Councillor reports that Planning officers of Lichfield District Council will be recommending the refusal of the application from Prowind for wind turbines on Mr and Mrs Bennion's land.  The decision will be made on the evening of 8th April by district councillors at Lichfield District Council offices, Frog Lane, Lichfield.

Ellis stated "as many people as possible are needed to attend the planning meeting to make sure councillors know that the appetite of people in the Mease Valley to oppose this massive application has not diminished at all. PLEASE… if you are able to, be at the Lichfield District Council car park for 5.30pm on this Monday 8th April to make the point very clearly.....If enough people turn up (at least 50, and better still 150)  a picture will be taken and a media release issued. It will all help in the event that Prowind Appeal!!"
